The Pre-Tape Spray That Stops Your Tape Lifting Before the Final Siren

Strapit Xtra Tac is a pre-tape adhesive spray designed to solve one of the most frustrating problems in club sport — tape that lifts, slides, or peels off mid-game. Spray it on the skin before applying any sports tape, wait 20-30 seconds for it to dry, and it creates a tacky base layer that dramatically improves how long the tape holds. Developed by Strapit's team of physiotherapists and made in Australia, it's the product that club trainers reach for when conditions are tough — humid days, high-sweat players, or any situation where you simply can't afford a tape job to fail.

It works with all sports tapes — kinesiology tape, rigid strapping tape, and underwrap — and a single 330ml can goes a long way when applied correctly. If your club is already using Strapit kinesiology tape, Xtra Tac is the companion product that makes every roll last longer and perform better on skin.

How to use

1. Apply in small bursts to the skin area you're taping
2. Wait 20-30 seconds for the spray to dry
3. Apply your tape as normal — kinesiology tape, rigid strapping, or underwrap
4. The tacky base layer holds the tape firmly in place through sweat and movement

Club trainers dealing with players who sweat heavily Some players' skin simply doesn't hold tape well — particularly in summer, during warm-up, or in humid conditions. Xtra Tac is the fix. Spray it on first and the same tape job that was peeling off at quarter time holds through to the final siren.
Trainers applying kinesiology tape for multi-day wear When you want kinesiology tape to stay on for 3-5 days through training, showering, and daily activity — Xtra Tac gives it a much stronger starting bond. Particularly useful on body regions that are hard to tape cleanly, like ankles, shoulders, and the lower back.
Physios and sports medicine staff at club level Developed by Strapit's physiotherapy team for clinical and sports settings — it's a professional product used in both environments. For club physios and sports trainers who take their taping seriously, Xtra Tac is the prep step that makes the difference between a tape job that works and one that doesn't.
Anyone who's had a tape job fail at the wrong moment If you've ever re-taped an ankle at half time, watched kinesiology tape peel off a shoulder during warm-up, or had a player come off because their strapping gave way — Xtra Tac is the product that prevents those situations. Once you use it you won't tape without it.
Works in humid conditions and on high-sweat players Specifically developed to work in general conditions, humid conditions, and on players who sweat excessively — the three scenarios where standard tape application most commonly fails. Xtra Tac handles all three.
Compatible with all sports tapes Works with kinesiology tape, rigid strapping tape, and underwrap — whatever tape your club uses, Xtra Tac improves how well it holds. One spray for every tape job in the kit bag.
Fast drying — 20-30 seconds and you're taping On a busy game day when you're working through a queue of players before warm-up, a 20-30 second dry time means Xtra Tac adds almost nothing to your tape prep time. Spray, wait, tape — it fits naturally into your existing routine.
Australian-made, developed by physiotherapists Xtra Tac was developed by Strapit's team of experienced physiotherapists specifically for the demands of clinical and sports settings in Australia. It's not a generic adhesive spray — it's a product built around the specific challenges of sports taping in Australian conditions.
330ml can — goes a long way at the right application rate Applied in small bursts as directed, a 330ml can covers a large number of tape applications before needing replacement. For clubs buying in bulk, the 5-pack option reduces the cost per can and ensures you're never caught without it on game day.

Do I need pre-tape spray or will the tape stick without it?

For most players in normal conditions, sports tape will hold reasonably well on clean, dry skin without pre-tape spray. But for players who sweat heavily, in humid weather, for multi-day kinesiology tape applications, or in situations where you simply can't afford the tape to fail — Xtra Tac is worth using every time. Many trainers make it a standard part of every tape job once they see how much of a difference it makes.

Can it be used on any part of the body?

Yes — it can be applied wherever you're planning to tape. Avoid broken, irritated, or freshly shaved skin. If you're applying to a sensitive area or to a player with known skin sensitivities, test a small area first before using on a larger region.

How long does a can last?

Applied correctly in small bursts, a 330ml can covers a significant number of applications. For a club trainer doing a full squad pre-game, a single can can last several rounds of the season depending on usage. The 5-pack option is the practical choice for clubs that tape regularly — better value per can and ensures you always have backup.

Does it work with all types of sports tape?

Yes — Xtra Tac is compatible with kinesiology tape, rigid strapping tape, and underwrap. It improves adhesion regardless of the tape type applied over it.

How do I remove the residue after taping?

Any adhesive residue left on the skin after removing tape can be cleaned off with soap and water or a dedicated adhesive remover. The spray doesn't stain clothing or equipment when used as directed.
