The Walk-Behind Floor Scrubber That Cleans a Clubroom in One Pass.
The Tennant T260 is a battery-powered walk-behind floor scrubber built for clubs, schools, and facilities that need to clean hard floors quickly, thoroughly, and without specialist training. One press of the push-button start, one steady pass across the floor, and the T260 scrubs, recovers, and leaves the surface near-dry in a single motion. Muddy change rooms, sticky canteen floors, gymnasium courts, and function room surfaces — the T260 handles all of it in a fraction of the time a mop and bucket takes.
With a 500mm scrub path, up to 1,950m² per hour productivity, and a 3-hour battery runtime on a single charge, the T260 is the step up from manual cleaning that most clubs and schools make once and never look back from. Simple enough for any volunteer to operate, robust enough for daily commercial use, and backed by Tennant's reputation as the world's leading floor cleaning equipment manufacturer.
Sports Clubs with Clubrooms, Canteens, and Change RoomsClubs that clean hard floors after games, training nights, and functions. The T260 cuts through mud tracked in from the oval, sticky spills from the canteen, and the general grime that builds up on change room floors — in one pass, without multiple mop buckets or a team of volunteers. Simple enough for anyone on the roster to operate, robust enough to handle it week after week.
Schools with Gymnasiums, Corridors, and Hard Surface AreasSchools that need hard floors cleaned quickly between classes, after PE sessions, or at the end of the day. The T260's compact size navigates corridors, gymnasium floors, and canteen areas efficiently. The near-dry finish means floors are safe to walk on immediately after cleaning — no waiting, no wet floor signs across a high-traffic corridor.
Community Recreation Centres and CouncilsMulti-purpose facilities with hard floor areas that see high foot traffic from different user groups throughout the day. The T260's 1,950m² per hour productivity means a large community hall or sports centre floor can be cleaned in a single session without the time and labour cost of manual methods.
Facilities Upgrading from Mop and BucketAny club or school currently cleaning hard floors manually that wants to reduce the time, labour, and water use involved. The T260 doesn't just clean faster — it cleans better, removing ground-in grime that a mop spreads rather than lifts, and leaving floors near-dry in one pass.
Push-button operation — anyone can use itOne button to start, one button to stop. The battery meter display shows remaining charge at a glance. No complicated controls, no specialist training required — any volunteer or staff member can operate the T260 effectively after a five-minute brief. Yellow touch points across the machine identify every daily maintenance point at a glance.
500mm scrub path — 1,950m² per hourThe 500mm (20") disk scrub head covers serious ground. At up to 1,950m² per hour a large change room, gym floor, or function room is done in minutes, not the better part of an hour. The pad-assisted drive propels the machine forward as you scrub — reduced operator effort, consistent results.
Near-dry floors in a single passThe parabolic squeegee with Linatex® blades delivers excellent water recovery in a single pass. The floating splash guard controls water spray and maximises pickup. Floors are left near-dry immediately after cleaning — safe to walk on, no long wait, no wet floor hazard for players arriving for the next session.
3-hour battery runtime — 135AH AGM maintenance-freeThe sealed AGM battery runs for up to 3 hours on a single charge and requires no ongoing maintenance — no watering, no checking electrolyte levels. Charge it overnight, run it through the full facility the next morning. For most clubs and schools one charge covers everything that needs cleaning in a session.
Multiple solution flow rates — adapts to the messVariable solution flow rates let the operator dial up or down depending on the surface and the level of soiling. Light daily maintenance on a gymnasium floor needs less solution than a heavily soiled change room post-match. One machine, adjusted to the job.
Easy daily maintenance — large tank access, yellow touch pointsThe large recovery tank opening provides full access and visibility for cleaning out. The simple brush and pad change-out system takes minutes. Yellow touch points mark every daily maintenance item — drain the tanks, rinse, store. Tennant designed the T260 to be maintained by operators, not just technicians.
3-year warranty — Tennant-backedThe T260 carries a 3-year warranty backed by Tennant — the world's leading commercial floor cleaning equipment manufacturer. Parts and service support are available nationally. This isn't a machine you'll be replacing in two seasons.
Large open floors — warehouses, sports halls, large facilities
Operation
Walk behind — compact, manoeuvrable in tight spaces
Ride-on — covers large open areas faster
The T260 is the right machine for most clubs and schools — compact, manoeuvrable, and easy for volunteers to operate in the spaces clubs actually have. The T7 is for larger facilities with substantial open floor areas where a ride-on delivers significantly better productivity. Not sure which suits your facility? Call us on 1300 715 818.
Grant Funding — Could This Be Covered?
Commercial floor cleaning equipment is regularly funded through state sport and recreation grants, local council community facility programmes, and school infrastructure funding — particularly where the purchase reduces ongoing cleaning contractor costs, improves hygiene standards, or supports volunteer capacity. The T260 makes a strong grant application on all three counts.
At Club Captain we help clubs find the right grant, scope the project, and submit a strong application. We provide itemised quotes formatted for grant applications, school purchase orders, and committee approval.

Does a volunteer need training to operate it?
No specialist training is required. The T260 has a single push-button Start/Stop control and a battery meter display — that's essentially it for operation. The yellow touch points across the machine identify every daily maintenance step visually. Most operators are comfortable after a 15-minute walk-through. A volunteer quick-start guide is included with every machine.
What surfaces does it work on?
The T260 is suitable for sealed hard floor surfaces including concrete, tiles, vinyl, timber, epoxy, and polished floors. It also works on porous stone, grout, and finished concrete. It is not suitable for carpet or outdoor unsealed surfaces.
How long does the battery last and how do you charge it?
Up to 3 hours of continuous scrubbing on a full charge. The machine includes an offboard charger — plug in after use and charge overnight. The 135AH AGM battery is maintenance-free and sealed, requiring no watering or electrolyte checks.
How do you maintain it after use?
After each use: drain the recovery tank, rinse both tanks with clean water, remove and clean the squeegee blades, and check the scrub pad or brush for wear. The yellow touch points mark each daily maintenance item clearly. Full access to both tanks via the large recovery tank opening makes cleaning straightforward. Store with tanks empty and the machine plugged in to charge.
Should we choose the T260 or the T7?
The T260 is the right choice for most clubs and schools — compact, easy to manoeuvre in corridors, change rooms, and canteens, and simple for volunteers to operate. The T7 is a ride-on machine suited to larger open floor areas where significantly higher productivity is needed. If you're unsure, call us on 1300 715 818 and we'll help you work out which machine suits your facility and floor area.
